Learn more about ASME Setion IX changes to incorporate new Waveforem Technology. ASME Section IX has added equations for calculating heat inputs, based on new technology with waveforms and instantaneous power readings. Meeting to be held at Lexington Technology Center at 6:30 pm on February 21, 2012.
Prior to the meeting there will be the 1st Annual Student Weld Off, starting at 5:00pm, also at Lexington Technology Center click here The finished welds will be judged by members attending the meeting later in the evening.
Technical Meeting will be a PowerPoint Presentation on the
Snellville, Georgia, 2002 Billboard Collapse that killed three
workers. Presented by the inspector of the accident, Carl
Matricardi. He is the founder and president of Welding
Solutions, Inc., Lawrenceville, GA. He has been in the welding
industry for 35 years, and is an AWS CWI, CWE, and M.Ed.,
Ed.S. He has served as chairman of the Georgia Section where
he currently is vice chair and has been named District 5 director
to fulfill the last two years of Steve Mattson’s second term. He
served as an expert witness on several high profile weld-failure

information.
The presentation will be hosted at the Lexington Technology
Center, and pizza and drinks will be provided by Lincoln Electric
a supporter of the Columbia Section.
