Workshop: Applying Engineering Codes and Standards
Sponsored by Idaho Section of ASME
The Idaho Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is hosting a workshop on when and how to invoke various codes and standards into the engineering process. Engineering assumptions and risk assessments must be carefully scrutinized to ensure the most effective path is selected. There is usually some gray area where the engineering team has to decide which parts of a code to follow and which parts to take an exception to in their requirements documents. This workshop will mostly focus on the DOE contractor/subcontractor environment as it applies to the INL and its vendors.
This workshop is open to all interested parties and provides 8 PDH credits. Please review the agenda below.
When: Friday, May 11, 2012, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Where: University Place Center for Higher Education (CHE) Room 222
1782 Science Center Drive, Idaho Falls
Registration is $100 and can be done electronically through the local ASME Website (ccourses/ApplyingEngineeringCodesStandards.html). Please contact Karen A Moore with any questions at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 208-526-8852.
