Greetings Members, Come one. Come all. It’s Crayfish Boil Time! Bring your spouse. Bring a friend. Join us this month at Performance Contractors and enjoy the crayfish, potatoes, corn, and sausage provided. A tour of Performance Contractor’s fabrication facility is included.

This month we will honor to the past Chairmen of the Mobile Section of the American Welding Society. We encourage all past Chairmen to attend. If not for the exceptional leadership and vision of these men and women, the Mobile Section would not be the 740-member strong organization it is today.

It’s been quite a ride this year. This is our last monthly section meeting until September. Our monthly meetings have been well attended this year averaging sixty-one attendees each month. The Executive Committee will begin meeting over the summer months planning next year’s meeting topics and guest speakers. Members are encouraged to suggest topics for the upcoming year. Contact one of the Executive Committee members with your ideas.

We would like to thank the companies that have sponsored area students and instructors at our meetings this year. With their support, we are able to provide meals at no cost to our future welders and their instructors. Those meeting sponsors include Airgas, AirProducts, Hobart Corporation, Lincoln Electric, and Southern Gas & Welding Supply.

We also like to thank the local distributors and companies that have provided door prizes at our monthly meetings. Special thanks to the advertisers in our annual ad booklet. Revenue from sales of ads in this booklet account for approximately $7,000 annually that goes into our scholarship fund. ESAB will donate three welding helmets to be given as door prizes to students attending this month’s meeting. Special thanks also goes to Wesco Gas & Welding Supply, Airgas, and the Mobile AWS Section which donated in excess of $37,000 in welding equipment & supplies to the Denham Springs High School welding program in Louisiana which was devastated by severe flooding in August. See you Thursday!

Directions: Take exit 15A to merge onto US-90 W/Government Blvd/Spanish Trail toward Theodore/Historic Mobile Pkwy 5.1 miles. Turn left onto Padgett Switch Rd. Destination will be on the left - 443 feet.

We hope to see you there!

Best regards,
The AWS Mobile Section Board
