Thursday, Feb. 24th.
Ken Barry, our Speaker from Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group, drew in more attendees than we expeted. His topic was careers in welding and how to become a nuclear quality welder. Unfortunately, his prepared slide presentation did not work, but he still managed to wing it, and did a great job. Most of the student attendees were Ivy Tech Community College students (Ivy Tech hosted the event), but there were also students from Henderson County High, Evansville’s Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center, and Pike Central High School. Many area companies also attended.
Also attending was Dorr Doty, who has been an AWS member since 1946.
